Sameena Manzur, a former sampling specialist and current PhD research assistant at the Waste Data and Analysis Center (WDAC), has been awarded the 2024–2025 Christian-Roller-White-Miles Foundation Scholarship by the New York State Association for Solid Waste Management (NYSASWM). This prestigious $1,000 scholarship honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication and impact in the field of solid waste management.

During her time at WDAC, Sameena played a key role in field sampling operations and contributed to several high-impact research initiatives focused on waste stream analysis and environmental data modeling. Her work was conducted under the mentorship of WDAC Director Dr. Elizabeth L. Hewitt and WDAC founder Dr. David J. Tonjes.
Now pursuing her PhD in the Department of Technology, AI, and Society, Sameena continues to advance research in sustainable waste systems and data-driven environmental policy.
